An 11-year-old girl abducted in California in 2020 has been found safe in Washington County, North Carolina, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
On March 10, deputies received notification from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services about the possibility of the child being in North Carolina. Sgt. Quintana, along with School Resource Officers Tate and Scolaro, identified the child as being enrolled in Washington County Schools under an alias. Multiple agencies in North Carolina and California cooperated to locate the child, who was then taken into protective custody.
Officials are withholding further information, including the child’s name, because of her age and ongoing investigations.
