The Dow rose 24.69 points, or 0.05%, to 50,668.97. The S&P 500 gained 43.27 points, or 0.58%, to 7,563.63, and the Nasdaq Composite added 242.74 points, or 0.91%, to 26,917.47.
Crude prices declined, with Brent falling to $93 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate trading below $90 a barrel.
Gasoline prices were more than 40% higher than a year earlier, though they declined by about 5 to 6 cents a gallon over the past few days.
Ferrari shares fell 6.3% by midday to 290.45 euros on the Milan stock exchange.
Brent on Monday closed at its lowest level since April 20 on expectations that the United States and Iran would soon reach a deal.
The warnings came as hardship withdrawals increased.
Brent crude, the international standard, dropped $4.86 to $98.68 a barrel.
