U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Boston said it arrested five immigrants in New England over the past month who are wanted in their home countries for murder and other violent crimes. Several were the subjects of Interpol Red Notices, which are requests to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition.
In posts on X, ICE said each person had entered the United States illegally during President Joe Biden’s administration. The agency said the arrests reflected its focus on detaining foreign nationals accused of serious crimes abroad.
“ERO Boston has always been—and will continue to be—strongly committed to targeted enforcement actions against the most dangerous criminal aliens, ensuring the safety and security of our New England communities,” ICE Boston said.
ICE identified those arrested as:
Magno Jose Dos Santos, arrested March 22 in Worcester, Massachusetts. ICE said Brazilian authorities want him on homicide and attempted homicide charges tied to a May 12, 2021, incident.
Bryan Rafael Gomez, arrested April 4 in Worcester, Massachusetts. ICE said he is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice for homicide and is wanted by authorities in the Dominican Republic.
Altieris Chaves Paiva, arrested April 5 in Falmouth, Massachusetts. ICE said he is also the subject of an Interpol Red Notice for homicide and is wanted by authorities in Brazil.
Kele Cristian Alves-Pereira, arrested March 13 in Everett, Massachusetts. ICE said Brazilian authorities want her for murder and that Interpol issued a Red Notice for her arrest.
