A Jacksonville man faces multiple charges after police said he fled an attempted traffic stop and drove as fast as 120 mph through the city.

According to charging documents, 21-year-old Hayden Marshall was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and multiple traffic offenses, including speeding, unsafe lane changes, running red lights and stop signs, driving without liability insurance, and hit-and-run involving property damage.

Investigators said a Jacksonville police officer tried to stop Marshall on Gum Branch Road on Tuesday. Charging documents alleged he accelerated away, reaching 120 mph in a 45-mph zone on Gum Branch Road and 93 mph in a 35-mph zone on Onsville Drive.

According to charging documents, Marshall was involved in a crash near Gum Branch Road and U.S. 17 that caused more than $1,000 in property damage. Investigators alleged he struck traffic signal guide wires and did not stop afterward.

Jacksonville police arrested Marshall and booked him into the Onslow County Jail under a secured bond.
