Target plans to open two new stores in South Carolina, expanding its presence in the Midlands and Upstate regions.

The company confirmed a store will be built along Augusta Highway in Lexington County, occupying approximately 129,000 square feet at 2552 Augusta Highway, between Oak Pointe Drive and Jamestowne Court. It will be part of a new shopping center developed by Dallas-based firm 413 Solutions. The company described it in a February 2025 release as a “cutting-edge shopping center” with a projected opening in fall 2026.

This location will be Target’s second store in the Lexington area. Other nearby locations include stores on Sunset Boulevard in Lexington, and on Garners Ferry Road, Two Notch Road, and Harbison Boulevard in Columbia.

Target also confirmed a new store in Seneca, to be located at 1810 Sandifer Boulevard. The store will measure about 128,855 square feet and will anchor the Thornwell Village retail center along Highway 123 in Oconee County.

Site work began in spring 2025. An opening date for the Seneca location has not been announced. The nearest existing Target for that area is in Anderson, at 3519 Clemson Boulevard.
