The White House expanded its presence on TikTok by launching an official account featuring members of President Trump’s Cabinet, continuing the administration’s engagement with the social media platform.
On Thursday, the White House announced the new Cabinet-focused TikTok account with a post on X stating, “NEW ON TIKTOK: The great U. S. Cabinet!” The first video post included edited footage of administration figures such as President Trump, Vice President Vance, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, accompanied by pulsating background music. The video was posted midday Thursday.
According to the biography section of the new TikTok account, the content is “Managed by [the] White House.”
The launch follows a broader move by the Trump administration to engage with younger audiences through TikTok. In August, the administration created its first official presence on the platform with a White House account.
TikTok, owned by China-based ByteDance, has been a focal point of national security debates due to concerns about foreign influence and data privacy. Despite these concerns, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox Business Network in October that the U.S. finalized an agreement allowing the platform to continue operations within the country.
“In Kuala Lumpur, we finalized the TikTok agreement in terms of getting Chinese approval,” Bessent said during the televised interview. “And I would expect that would go forward in the coming weeks and months, and we’ll finally see a resolution to that.”
Breitbart first reported on the new Cabinet TikTok account earlier this week.
